Hi, I’m Erik Terwan, a freelance software engineer based in the Netherlands.

I specialize in the Apple ecosystem, building apps for iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS. That said, I have solid experience with a wide range of other languages and frameworks.

Who am I?

I've been building software since I was 15 and studied Interaction Design along the way. I care as much about creating intuitive experiences as writing solid code.

When I'm not developing apps, I'm usually bouldering, running or tinkering with a new idea.

Some of the apps I’ve had the privilege to work on include Starbucks, Weber Connect, and NOS Jeugdjournaal.

And quite a few others. Feel free to check the banner below for a little more name-dropping, or contact me for an updated CV.

I primarily write apps in Swift, with a strong preference for SwiftUI. In practice though, I regularly encounter UIKit and Objective-C codebases and am very comfortable refactoring and modernizing them.

Sometimes I make apps for myself

You can find them on my App Store page. They’re a collection of small, practical tools designed to make my own life easier, always ad-free and without any tracking nonsense.

Notable mentions include SoundBoy and BPMDetect, which received a bit more love and attention than the others.
